This programme is particularly
concerned with pastoral communities where there is persistent
drought, famine, shortage of clean water and protracted
inter-communal conflicts.
Illiteracy is a major problem affecting the communities
in these regions with many children lacking access to basic
education. In this regard, the Institute will support efforts
to eradicate illiteracy and provide access to basic education
for the disadvantaged.
